Here, on the Modest Needs 'Testimonials' page, we ask all Modest Needs grant recipients to post a short note describing the impact your giving has had on their lives, on the lives of their families, or, in the case of non-profits, on the lives of the people they serve.
We maintain this page so that visitors to Modest Needs can see for themselves what Modest Needs' active members already know:
Pocket change used wisely has the power to change real lives.

I just want to thank everyone who is able, and generous enough to fund Modest Needs. I woke up this morning thinking I was going to have to move myself and three children out of our current home and into a shelter someday very soon. Then, I checked my email and saw that my prayers have been answered. I can not describe the feelings I have at this very moment! I can not wait until I can give back to Modest Needs. I am currently working and now that I can pay my rent, I am back on the right track! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless!

I was in a very bad situation when my car broke down in the begging of September 2008. So one night while I was watching the news they were talking about this web site at first I thought it was some kind of scam but I still said I was going to check it out so I went on it and started my application to my surprize it was not a scam. I am giving thanks to all the wonderful, greatful, and magnificant people who donate to this organization due to their help I was able to get my car repaired. Now I can take my girls to school and my self to work and be on time. I am very thankful. Sincerely, Marangelly Cortes

I wanted to express my gratitude and thanks for everyone that donated their hard earned money to help me and my family. What a privilege it is to be accepted by an organization like Modest Needs and have people believe in helping families end the cycle of poverty. I can't say thank you enough. During the time of waiting to see if I would be funded, I have looked at many of the other people asking for help and my heart goes out to them. I know that when I am 100% back on the right track, which should be in a month or so, I will look forward to helping others as well. I wish I could thank each of you directly. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts and may God bless you. Sincerely, James Corey and family

I am almost speechless. I don't know which thought to type, so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I know that God always has my back. I thank everyone that has stepped in to do the same. There has been so many things to deal with lately. Under all of this stress, I have been feeling lost. I have been faced with hard times, like so many others in this nation. I didn't think that I would be laid off. I always do my best, and I never like to ask for help. I am normally the one helping others. I am so appreciative of the assistance received. I needed help, and complete strangers gave from their hearts to help my family. With three children, you would definitely understand the relief I feel. I had never even heard of Modest Needs. Today, I randomly checked my email and saw the confirmation for a check being mailed to me. This will satisfy my debt and cancel the eviction. I will definitely dedicate at the bare minimum 'pocket change' to pay this favor forward. Truly grateful, DC

You will never know the happiness and sheer relief that I felt when I checked my email this morning to find that my application for assistance had been funded. I am truly amazed each and every day at the generosity and love that people share with strangers. The past few months have been trying, but it is times like these that truly bring out the best in people. I can't wait for my opportunity to come back to this wonderful site and pay it forward! I know that our car issues are small in comparison to all of the strife and pain throughout the world, but may God Bless each and every one of you who felt our need worthy enough to assist! And may there be ample assistance for everyone else in need and ample generosity in the hearts of the able. You'll never know how much this means to myself and my family. Thank you.

I would like to say 'Thank you to all the wonderful people that donate to ModestNeed Org. I have never had to ask for help from any organization in all my adult years, but I thank God that ModestNeeds was there when I needed assistance. My son was injured in Afganistan and I had to take a family leave without pay to be at his bedside out in Washington D.C. while he recovered. Upon returning home I needed assistance with my monthly rental and was referred to ModestNeeds. This whole experience has being a real eye opener for me as far as donating to organizations like ModestNeeds. I have promise 'God' and myself that I will donate monthly to as many organizations as I can, even if it's only a dollar. We never know when our day will come for assistance! Thank you again for your assistance. Sharon Brown Calumet City, Illinois

Wow! I am in shock! I am truly amazed by this wonderful organization, and can't thank everyone who donated to my situation enough. I am grateful to each and everyone, and my family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. I know that, in this time, so many are faced with similar situations, but to have those out there that are still willing to help others is truly a blessing. I am hoping to be able to give back for others in the months ahead. Thank you again for all of your generosity. It won't ever be forgotten!
